| Bob Costas -- Class of 1970 |
![]() Born in Astoria, Queens, Bob and his family moved to Commack in 1964. His first job in broadcasting was at Syracuse University where he was attending college. He went from there to radio broadcasting in St. Louis, Missouri, which he now calls home, and then on to a position as NBC sportscaster and having his own talk shows ("Later with Bob Costas" and "On the Record" for HBO). Known for carrying a baseball card of Mickey Mantle with him at all times, how many of us can remember seeing him, in class and on the bus, speaking into his pencil "microphone" as if he were Howard Cosell interviewing Muhammad Ali (then known as Cassius Clay)? |

| Craig Schulman |
![]() Craig Schulman may look familiar to many of you who had Hugh Schulman (South Ridge Elementary School) as a teacher or principal. He is Hugh's son. Craig is world renowned as a performer and has performed in "Les Miserables" and "Phantom of the Opera," along with many other shows. ![]() Richie founded the East Side Comedy Club in Huntington, N. Y. which was the premiere comedy club on Long Island in its heyday. Eddie Murphy, Rosie O'Donnell, Jay Leno and Ray Romano were among the comedians who appeared at Richie's club. Richie now goes on tour himself as a headliner all across the country. |

![]() A graduate of the class of 1980, Rosie O'Donnell was born and raised in Commack. President of her class at Commack South, she got started in her career as a stand-up comedian in local clubs on Long Island. As a comedian, actress, talk show host and author, Rosie has fans all over the world. |

![]() Ruth Ann Swenson has travelled all over the world as an operatic singer. A soprano, she has performed many times at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. She has several albums out showcasing her talent. |
